PCGS Certified 2026 Tudor Beast Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin
Product Description
The PCGS Certified 2026 Tudor Beast Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin holds one troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold, carries the eighth bullion design in The Royal Tudor Beasts collection and has been graded and sealed by PCGS. It is UK legal tender with a £100 face value, exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents and VAT-exempt as investment gold.
The PCGS 2026 Tudor Beast Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin design
David Lawrence’s Queen’s Lion holds its shield in a powerful, upright pose, set on a Tudor-inspired background enhanced with surface animation.
The obverse carries Martin Jennings’ portrait of King Charles III.
Two lions in one collection
The Queen’s Lion is the second lion in the collection, separate from the Lion of England that opened it in 2022. It stands on the Moat Bridge as one of Jane Seymour’s beasts, using the oldest and most recognisable emblem in English heraldry to underline her standing as queen.
PCGS grading of the 2026 Tudor Beast Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin
A graded Queen’s Lion makes a natural bookend to a certified Lion of England from 2022, the coin that opened the collection.
Grading by PCGS means the coin has been examined by an independent third party, confirmed as genuine, given a grade from 1 to 70 on the Sheldon scale and sealed in a tamper-evident holder. The printed label records the issue and the grade, and its certification number can be looked up on the PCGS website at any time.
We supply the coin at the grade shown on its holder. Because grades differ from coin to coin and the images are illustrative, please ask before ordering if a specific grade matters to you.

Why buy a PCGS 2026 Tudor Beast Queen’s Lion 1oz Gold Coin?
The Queen’s Lion is one of the last designs in the ten-coin collection, which gives it a defined place for series collectors.
It is also a full ounce of CGT-exempt gold with independently confirmed condition.
Why buy 1oz gold coins?
The one-ounce coin is the standard unit of the gold market. Because gold is priced per troy ounce, a 1oz coin’s metal value is simple to follow, and the larger size usually carries a lower premium per gram than fractional coins. Compared with a large bar, a holding of 1oz coins can still be sold a coin at a time, so you keep flexibility without paying fractional-coin premiums.
Frequently asked questions
How is the Queen’s Lion different from the Lion of England?
They are two separate beasts on the Moat Bridge. The Lion of England opened the collection in 2022; the Queen’s Lion is one of the 2026 releases.
Is a certified coin still VAT-exempt?
Yes. Grading does not change its status as investment gold in the UK.
