The PCGS 2026 Tudor Beast Seymour Panther 1/4oz Gold Coin design
The quarter-ounce coin carries David Lawrence’s full panther and shield in 22mm, on the surface-animated Tudor background used throughout the collection. Martin Jennings’ portrait of King Charles III is on the obverse.
The beast that opened and closed the collection
The Seymour Panther was the design the Royal Mint chose to launch the Royal Tudor Beasts collection in 2022, and its 2026 bullion coin is the tenth and final release of the bullion series. It is one of Jane Seymour’s beasts, shown with flames issuing from its mouth and ears, the incensed panther of Seymour heraldry.
PCGS grading of the 2026 Tudor Beast Seymour Panther 1/4oz Gold Coin
For collectors building the ten beasts in graded quarter-ounces, the Seymour Panther is the coin that completes the bullion set.
PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) is an independent grading company that authenticates coins, grades them on the 70-point Sheldon scale and seals them in a tamper-evident holder. Bullion coins are graded in Mint State (MS), and the label shows the coin’s date, denomination, grade and a unique certification number that can be checked on the PCGS website.
The grade of the coin supplied is the one stated on its PCGS label. Images are for illustration and grades may vary, so please contact our team if you would like a specific grade.

Why buy a PCGS 2026 Tudor Beast Seymour Panther 1/4oz Gold Coin?
It closes a certified quarter-ounce Tudor Beasts set with the beast that both opened and ended the series, at a fraction of the outlay of the 1oz coin.
It holds 7.78g of fine gold with the tax treatment of UK legal tender gold.
Why buy 1/4oz gold coins?
Quarter-ounce coins are a middle step for buyers who want more than a tenth of an ounce per coin without committing to a full ounce. They make regular purchases more manageable and give you finer control when selling, since you can release a small part of a holding. The trade-off is a higher premium per gram than larger coins, so they suit flexibility more than bulk buying.
