PCGS Certified 2026 Tudor Beast Royal Dragon 1oz Gold Coin
Product Description
The PCGS Certified 2026 Tudor Beast Royal Dragon 1oz Gold Coin contains one troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold, carries the ninth bullion design in The Royal Tudor Beasts collection and has been graded and sealed by PCGS. It is UK legal tender with a £100 face value, exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents and VAT-exempt as investment gold.
The PCGS 2026 Tudor Beast Royal Dragon 1oz Gold Coin design
David Lawrence’s Royal Dragon is worked in high relief, wings and scales picked out against a Tudor-inspired background enhanced with surface animation.
Martin Jennings’ portrait of King Charles III appears on the obverse.
The second dragon of the collection
The Royal Dragon is the second dragon in the collection, distinct from the Tudor Dragon of 2024. Lawrence’s winged dragon holds a shield bearing the royal arms as used in Henry VIII’s reign, tying the beast to the king rather than to a family line. In the bullion sequence, the Royal Dragon is the ninth release; the Seymour Panther follows as the tenth and final beast to appear individually.
PCGS grading of the 2026 Tudor Beast Royal Dragon 1oz Gold Coin
Certifying a coin from the end of the series records its condition at the time of grading, before handling and storage take their toll on soft 24-carat surfaces.
PCGS is an independent American grading service used worldwide. Each coin it certifies is authenticated, graded on the 70-point Sheldon scale used across the hobby, and sealed in a holder that cannot be opened without showing it. Mint State grades run from MS60 to MS70, the highest grade on the scale.
We supply the coin at the grade shown on its holder. Because grades differ from coin to coin and the images are illustrative, please ask before ordering if a specific grade matters to you.

Why buy a PCGS 2026 Tudor Beast Royal Dragon 1oz Gold Coin?
A graded Royal Dragon brings a certified Tudor Beasts collection close to its full ten designs.
It pairs that with a full ounce of CGT-exempt gold and an independent check on authenticity.
Why buy 1oz gold coins?
The one-ounce coin is the standard unit of the gold market. Because gold is priced per troy ounce, a 1oz coin’s metal value is simple to follow, and the larger size usually carries a lower premium per gram than fractional coins. Compared with a large bar, a holding of 1oz coins can still be sold a coin at a time, so you keep flexibility without paying fractional-coin premiums.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Royal Dragon close the Tudor Beasts series?
It is the ninth bullion release, immediately preceding the Seymour Panther that completes the ten individual beasts in bullion. In bullion, the 2026 Seymour Panther is the final release.
Can I verify the coin’s grade?
Yes. The PCGS website checks the certification number shown on the label.
