The 2023 Coronation 1oz Silver Coin is a Royal Mint bullion coin struck in one troy ounce of 999 fine silver to mark the coronation of King Charles III, whose first crowned portrait appears on the obverse. It is UK legal tender with a £2 face value, so it is exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents.
The 2023 Coronation 1oz Silver Coin design
John Bergdahl’s reverse shows the royal cypher of King Charles III, the King’s monogram beneath the Tudor Crown, designed specifically for the Coronation bullion range.
On the obverse is Martin Jennings’ first crowned portrait of the King, personally approved by His Majesty and introduced for the coronation on 6 May 2023.
